One to One Personalised Equipment Demonstration and Advice

Earshot has extensive knowledge of the equipment and adaptations needed by deaf people and can offer advice and support to individuals or small groups, see below for the range of support on offer:-

  • Understand how to overcome difficulties with hearing on the phone, including hearing aid wearers.
  • Awareness and demonstration of a range of specialist phones available for those with hearing and dual sensory issues.
  • Demonstration and Training on using BT Next Generation Text Service (NGT) services. See
  • Learn how to hear the Televisions, Radios and Listening books without disturbing others.
  • Awareness and Demonstration of Alerting Devices for important sounds in the home including smoke alarms, alarm clocks, doorbells, carer assistance and phone ringing etc.
  • Impartial advice on their managing their sensory loss with a range of equipment and technology that is available in the home, at work or out in the community.
  • Opportunities with trying out a range of demonstration equipment to meet their needs.
  • Manage and support people with maintaining Hearing Aids, BAHAs and Cochlear Implants.
  • Specialist advice on loop systems for public places such as receptions and halls.
  • Advice on Sheltered Accommodation Assistive technology for deaf and deafblind people.

We only offer Equipment Advice, Training and Signposting to Relevant Services. We will provide support if there is a wish to purchase equipment. Our aim is to help a Hard of Hearing or Deaf 

person to regain their independence again!
